I love a craft night with friends. Is there anything better?
I’ve tried to keep a budget in mind for each craft idea, since it adds up to provide crafts for multiple people. I’ve made notes on the affordability of the ideas.
I’ve also tried to keep attention span in mind and the time needed. All of these crafts allow conversation and will probably take about an hour, unless noted.
I’ve also noted ways to save time by preparing things ahead of time.
Just add a cheese plate and a few bottles of wine for a fun girls’ night in.
Girls’ Night In Crafts
Here are some of my favorite crafty ideas for a girl’s night in.
Decoupaged Paper Napkin Coasters
These decoupage coasters use paper napkins, which are available in a variety of prints. They’re pretty quick and easy to make, allowing for conversation. They’re also pretty affordable.
Custom Koozies
Custom koozies would be fun to make with your friends. To save time, you could pre-make the designs ahead of time. Or you could set up multiple cutting machines (ask friends to bring theirs!)
Koozies are really quick to make, so you may want to pair it with another activity.
If you already have a cutting machine and vinyl, it can be pretty affordable. Koozies can be bought in bulk and come in a variety of colors and sizes.
Stamped Jewelry
Stamped jewelry is so much fun to make. You can use pre-made necklaces to save time, or you can buy a spool of jewelry chain and create necklaces, as well.
This craft can be a bit more expensive, so you might want to ask your friends to chip in. Buying nicer metal blanks makes this craft easier, so keep that in mind. Cheaper metals are harder to stamp accurately. If you make necklaces, you will also need jewelry tools, chain, jump rings, and clasps.
Easy Watercolor Art
Abstract watercolor art is a fun craft, even if your friends aren’t artistic. It can be fairly inexpensive if you share paint. I recommend using this brush set, which is affordable but works well with watercolor paint.

Paint Pour Coasters
Paint pour coasters is another fun craft that requires no artistic skill. It’s a bit messier and will need more space. Your friends will need to pick up their finished coasters a few days later, after they have dried.
It’s a reasonably affordable craft.

Twig Wreath
Twig wreaths only look expensive. If you have access to an outdoor space, you may be able to make twig wreaths for almost free! Gotta love that. Ask your friends to bring extra hot glue guns if they have them.
This is a great fall craft, by the way!
Decorative Upcycled Plates
These decorative upcycled plates will require a trip or 2 to the thrift store. You might also want to print and seal the images ahead of time. Thrifted dishes are very affordable, and so is a pack of waterslide decal paper.

Waterslide Decal Ring Dishes
These fun ring dishes use the same decal paper as the upcycled plates. Printing and sealing the designs ahead of time will save time. These are fairly affordable to make as well.

Pom Pom Garland
Pom-pom garlands are so much fun to make. You can use pom-pom makers or you can create your own pom-pom maker templates. Yarn can get expensive, so try to find it on sale to save money.

Alcohol Ink Coasters
Alcohol ink coasters look so cool. This is a great craft to do outside because the alcohol ink fumes can get a bit overwhelming.
It can get a bit pricy to buy a variety of colors, so keep that in mind. However, the tiny bottles go a long way!
DIY Stamps
Stamp carving is a good craft for craftier friends. You might want to give them a heads up ahead of time, so they can have an idea of what to make.
You can print on paper or fabric, just choose the correct paint.
This craft can get a bit pricier because you need multiple cutting tools and carving blocks. Save money by buying in bulk.

Handmade Cards
There are so many ways to make handmade cards. If you use a Cricut, you may want to cut designs ahead of time.
Paper crafts are usually affordable, unless you’re including expensive embellishments.
Perfect for holiday crafting!
Faux Leather Keychains
I love making faux leather keychains. I use my Cricut Maker to make this process easier. You can also cut the faux leather with an Exacto knife. If you already have a Cricut, this is a pretty affordable craft. It’s a fairly quick craft, though.
Custom Tumblers or Water Bottles
It’s so much fun to add decals to tumblers or water bottles. I used insulated wine tumblers in this post.
It can be a good idea to cut the designs ahead of time. Save money by buying in bulk or having friends bring their own tumblers or water bottles. Have a few extra cups on hand in case someone forgets to bring their own.
This is a pretty quick craft as well.
Pom Pom Wreath
A pom-pom wreath can take a while, so it might be nice to work on it over several craft nights. Or you can make small pom-pom wreaths.
This craft can get pricy, depending on the yarn. Shop sales and use those coupons in the store!

Custom Mugs
I love making custom mugs. You can simplify this craft by cutting everyone’s monogram ahead of time. I used infusible ink for my mug because it’s permanent. Vinyl can be used instead – just don’t use the mug press.
If you already have a Cricut and a mug press, this craft can be fairly affordable. Just buy sublimation mugs in bulk to save money.
It takes about 6 minutes for each mug to be heat-set, so it might be nice to have another craft to make while they wait.
Gold Leaf Candle Holders
Gold leaf candle holders look so fancy! Overall, this is a pretty affordable craft. Save money on candle holders by buying them used from thrift stores or by buying in bulk.

Shibori Dyeing
Shibori dyeing is one of my favorite crafts. It’s perfect to do with friends because the dye vat makes so much! I used mine to dye napkins, dish towels, and table runners, but you can dye whatever you want.
It’s pretty affordable if your friends bring their own linens to dye. You will need time for the linens to sit and go through a wash cycle in the washing machine.

DIY Ornaments
If it’s near the holidays, consider having an ornament-making party. I have so many tutorials for DIY ornaments to check out. Prices vary, but they’re all pretty affordable.
