My favorite card designs are bold and graphic, so I designed this Christmas card with that in mind.
I wanted it to feel almost like a kid is singing at the top of their lungs (and probably slightly off-key). Something about that feels so nostalgic to me. We’ve all been that kid, right?
How to Make this Christmas Card
Supplies Needed:
- Cricut Smart Cardstock
- Card Blanks (I used size A6 – 4.5 x 6.25″)
- Cricut (I used my Cricut Maker 3)
- Ruler (for spacing)
- SVG (available at bottom of post)
This design is sized for an A6 card. Resizing may not work for other sizes.
I love using Cricut Smart Cardstock because you don’t need a mat (with a Cricut Maker), and it already has adhesive, so no glue is needed. It can be repositioned, which is great for this project because lining up all the letters can be difficult. I used colors from the Brights and Pastels sets. You’re welcome to use cardstock with glue, though.
As I just mentioned above, lining up the letters can be a bit tedious. It requires patience. Unlike vinyl, which can be used with transfer tape, there’s no easy way to do it with paper. I started in the middle and worked my way out, repositioning letters as needed.
- Upload the file as usual.
- Attach each letter set before sending to cut.
- Cut as usual.
- Use a ruler to mark 1 1/4″ from the top and bottom edges. This will help you align the pink background rectangles.
- Apply the pink background rectangles.
- Start from the middle and work your way out, carefully placing each letter.
- Continue until the card is finished.
- Smooth all the paper out to make sure that it’s attached firmly.
