I’m obsessed with adult milkshakes. And this almond joy milkshake might be the best one I’ve tried yet.
Even my husband proclaimed this drink to be his favorite cocktail ever. And that’s saying something because he doesn’t love sweet drinks or even milkshakes for that matter.
The Godiva dark chocolate liqueur is amazing though. Seriously, it can be sipped on it’s own. But in a milkshake, it’s downright heavenly.
The other key to this recipe is the almond extract. It gives the milkshake so much delicious almond flavor. Substitute with 1/2 oz amaretto if you have it on hand. (It’s on my shopping list now.)
How to Make a Boozy Almond Joy Milkshake
Ingredients
- 1 oz Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur
- 1 oz Malibu coconut rum
- 1/4 tsp Almond extract
- 1 tbsp Cocoa
- 1/4 c Milk
- 1 c Vanilla ice cream
How to Make without Alcohol
Omit the chocolate liqueur, cocoa and coconut rum. Replace with chocolate syrup and coconut cream.
Boozy Milkshake Tips
- Use less milk with a boozy milkshake than a regular milkshake. The alcohols add liquid, but they also cause the ice cream to melt a little faster.
- I use a Ninja blender for my frozen drinks and I love it. It’s seriously the best blender I have ever owned because it blends so quickly.
- These drinks are delicious without being overpowering. Add more booze if that’s your style.
