In November, my husband made us a farmhouse table for our dining room. I posted about affordable dining room chairs that we were considering, but never made a purchase until last week. I purchased the Carlisle dining room chair from Target when they were on sale. I’m very excited to show our dining room chair update.
I love these chairs with the table. They are much comfier than I thought they would be and were very easy to put together. I might add cushions similar to the ones from Ballard. Of course I love that they are ticking.
I recently raised the curtain rod and hemmed the curtains. These were inexpensive curtains from IKEA that I stenciled. My dining room and living room are open to each other, separated by only the stairs, so the curtains needed to match. Four windows, needing 8 panels was going to cost me a lot. When I found the curtains that I wanted, only 5 panels were available. So I made my own. I’m pretty happy with this version instead. The pompom wreath from Christmas is still up. It’s about time for it to be put away. The velvet painting is one of my favorites, but this area needs something a little brighter and happier.
I’m not sure that I love the gray legs of the table. I like the idea of white or black, but how great would aqua be? This room isn’t done, but it’s a lot happier now. I love the chair and table combo!
Still to do:
- Replace hutch with built in version on other wall. A built in would use the space better and provide more storage.
- Paint corner cabinet white or black. It’s currently green.
- Maybe a rug. Not sure how practical it would be, but it would look nicer!
I hope you have a nice weekend. It’s my wedding anniversary, plus it’s supposed to be warm for us! I’m looking forward to spending some time outside!
