12 Days of Christmas Trees: Magical Creatures Tree

Day 12: Magical Creatures Tree

The magical creatures tree is our last tree of the series. Of course I saved the best for last. This tree theme just makes me happy!

I know that narwhals aren’t magical creatures, but they sure seem magical! They’re like a cross between a whale and a unicorn, like a whale’s cool hipster brother. They’re so cute and my kids love anything narwhal. They actually love all of these creatures. So an owl isn’t magical either, but they also seem mystical. I love gnomes and fairies. Except for that Goosebumps episode about evil gnomes – not them. Unicorns and dragons are also super cute. The unicorn at the top says “baby’s first Christmas”, but I love it anyways despite not having any new babies. If it bothers you, glue something on top of it. I give the best advice ever! I love the rainbow and cloud. Those mushrooms are too cute.

The pearl garland adds shimmer to this magical theme. I used a Spoonflower fabric with unicorns for the tree skirt, but a sparkly tree skirt would work well too. A fluffy white tree skirt would look like clouds! That would be cool.

I would do ball ornaments hung organized by color to create a rainbow like Michael at Inspired by Charm did. Isn’t his tree great? If you can’t find the right colors, spray paint is your BFF. I would find rainbow ribbon and use it as a garland. There’s never enough rainbows. Toys always make good ornaments. My daughter has a ton of unicorns and mermaids in her room that would work as ornaments.
That wraps up my 12 Days of Christmas Trees series. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed making it.
